I believe these things showed both creativity and mental illness.  A child who could entertain herself has amazing creative brain activity.  However, no one should be truly afraid of such things.  I  initially thought this was foreshadowing of what was to come.  However, in class we discussed how this woman went crazy.  I think this started way before the reading did.  She obviously had some kind of sense when she was younger that something was different about her.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I never thought her husband to be the evil one in this story, however, i can't understand why a doctor would feel the need to keep her in the house.
